5 Tips for Expecting Mothers: Day 1 Tip 1 |

Most women in this world wish to become a mother one day, and every person wants to be happy. Family is one of the ways many people find happiness. Your pregnant and wondering what things you should focus on, I took the time to gather some of the tips I thought might be most helpful for expecting mothers. Join me over the next 5 weeks as I post a new tip each Wednesday.

If you are anything like me you may have even picked out names before you were even expecting. The moment I realized I was pregnant was the happiest moment for me at that time. In fact, it won’t be wrong to say that this was “the amazing moment” of my entire life.

Take Care of Yourself and Your Health

As a newly expecting mother, you should start to prepare your life and yourself for the baby. Many first time parents start reading everything they can get their hands on looking for useful information regarding pregnancy. But the most important thing to remember as a newly expecting mother is how important it is to take care of yourself and your health. This might seem obvious but things will start moving so fast it is easy to forget.

1. Keep Yourself Active:

Staying active during your pregnancy is important for first-time mothers. Sometimes at the later trimesters, it can even be difficult just to move. As women, we can handle the pain, but sometimes you still will need to remind yourself to get past the mental block and over the hump (no pun intended) from sitting on the couch or lying in bed wondering why you ever let yourself get pregnant in the first place.

Some Light Exercises

I’m never one to tell another woman how she should handle her personal life, but I can tell you from experience some light exercises will be very beneficial for you and for the baby as well. When you are more active during pregnancy (and before) it makes the whole process easier. I was not very active with my 1st (Joie) and we had complications like gestational diabetes. Now the doctor told me that being active wouldn’t solve the risk in my next pregnancy but aside from just feeling better overall we did not have the same kind of worries for 2 and 3 (Heather and William).

Watch that Weight

During pregnancy, gaining too much weight is not good at all. You should consult your physician for weight information during pregnancy. But another side of this coin is weight loss. During my pregnancy with Heather, I started losing weight rapidly during the 2nd trimester. It turned out to be fine but the doctor did make a few changes to my diet. Most important he had me keep up my new exercise routine that I adopted shortly after we welcomed Joie into our home.

There are many fitness centers that offer special courses of exercise for newly expecting moms. You can do yoga and other general exercises as your pregnancy progress you may need to limit how much you do but your body and the new baby will let you know. Walk on a daily basis its very a convenient exercise. Any activity that keeps you active will be beneficial for you and for your baby.

I would be honored if you will join me next Wednesday when I post tip 2. To make sure you don’t miss out sign up for our email list to get notified when I or one of our other others makes a post.
